Start with what you already have
You do not need to photograph everything again. Fitted supports camera and photo-library uploads with AI-assisted tagging on iPhone and Android. On iPhone, you can also import garments from outfit photos and clothing purchases from Gmail receipts.
These options solve different parts of the same problem. A library photo can save you a new photo session. An outfit photo may contain several pieces. A receipt can provide purchase information, but it does not establish that you still own the item.
See the device and import support guide to choose where to start.
Take a new clothing photo
Use a new photo when you have the garment nearby and do not already have a clear picture of it. This is a useful starting point for pieces whose color, condition, or shape is hard to recognize in older pictures.
- Place one piece against a plain, contrasting background.
- Keep the entire garment in frame and use even light.
- Add the photo and check the suggested item details.
For a repeatable setup, follow the clothing photo guide.
Choose an existing item photo
If you already have a clear image of a piece, use the photo-library option. Check that it shows the item you want to catalog, with enough detail to tell it apart from similar clothing.
After importing, compare the record with the real garment. Lighting, folds, and cropped edges can make a photo misleading. Confirm details such as size or fabric from the label.
Choosing photos is different from scanning a whole library. Selecting an existing image does not mean every garment in your camera roll will be found or imported automatically. Review the available options in your app before planning a larger import.
Use an outfit photo on iPhone
Fit Pic import identifies clothing in an outfit photo and creates separate flat-lay images for the pieces.
This can be useful when an outfit picture is the only image you have. Choose one where the clothing is visible, then review the extracted pieces. A bag, jacket, or pose can hide parts of an outfit, so compare the result with what you intended to add.
Keep only the pieces you recognize and want in your inventory. If one is unclear or missing, try an individual clothing photo.
Use Gmail purchase receipts on iPhone
Import clothing purchases from Gmail receipts when the purchase record is easier to find than a clothing photo.
Review the account-connection screen and the available purchases before choosing what to add. Include items you actually received and still own; returned purchases, gifts, and duplicate orders may not belong in your wardrobe inventory.
A receipt describes a transaction. It does not by itself confirm the garment's current condition, fit, or ownership.
Review the closet, whichever method you choose
- Recognize the piece. Make sure the image represents the garment you own.
- Check important details. Use labels or purchase records for information a photo cannot establish.
- Look for duplicates. The same piece may appear in a clothing photo, an outfit photo, and a receipt.
- Start with a small group. Learn how the results look before working through the rest of your wardrobe.

Check your app and get started
Available methods and plan requirements can vary. Check the import options, any purchase information, and connection prompts in your current app, then try a small group of pieces.
